Cocmashjelly ice cream

Today I made a ice cream and its called cocmashjelly. It has coconut, marshmallows and jelly beans in it. :p it's very nice. I mean its a kid ice cream because it is very childish. 

Growing

Cucumber - Water every night and put in a bar grid. 

Beetroot - Water every night and see how hevey it is intill pulling out.

Carrots - Water every night and feel how hevey it is to see if Redy.

Hand raising a baby bird - Fig bird

If you have a baby fig bird it means It fell out of the nest and it will die because the mother can't get it back into the nest. The important things to do when caring for the fig bird is food and a bed that is warm.

Hand raising a little bird is alot of work.

The things you feed a baby bird is fruit and worms from the garden.

The way you feed a baby bird is you have to drop it in their mouth.

Starzi and Rhodi found a little baby bird a few days ago. We found out that it is a fig bird. The fig bird normally lives in

When it's big you should release because its cruel to keep wild animals.

Dolphins - My Animal Research Project.

My animal is a dolphin.

I chose the dolphin because they are very smart.

Did you know that the dolphin is from the mammal family not the fish family?

They have to breathe air and can hold their breathe for a long time. The dolphins diet is fish. It lives in the sea. The dolphin is not in the top of the food chain which means they are hunted by sharks. its sad that humans are the killers which are endangering them.  Lots of tuna fishing net have dolphins in them. So when you buy tuna make sure its a dolphin friendly one.

 Dolphins can do rely cool stunts and they like to do it for fun.

Tomorrow when the war began - film review

I saw Tomorrow when the war began 16/11/13. This movie is about a group of teenagers that go on a camp at the Blue 

Mountains. Australia was attacked and have no power over it. 
When the teenagers get home every one was captured by the opposition . I thought it was interesting that the opposition weren't from a country or anything. They were just the baddies.

The main characters is Ellie, Homer, Fiona, Lee and Corrie. Ellie is my favourite character because she has a good sense of survival .

The film was made in Australia and the background was in the blue mountains. 

I think the movie was telling the audience that any one can be brave. I can learn to be brave at all times. I strongly suggest anyone  to watch this movie if your mature and over nine. There are some scary things in it and guns.

Growing

Today I picketed some beans and peas from the garden.

Grandma let us get some passion fruit from the fence.

 It was so cool how we got to see all the veggies grow.

Science Museum

We went to the science museum on a trip to learn all about science today.

It was so awesome to experiment with the things set up. My favourite thing was the science fiction section which looked at all the things which could be developed in he future.

I would like to teleport the most. I loved the teleport booth.. it was so cool to see us disappear and then reappear.

We explored the visual effects places as well. Mum took a photo of me which looks like my head was chopped off.

Cooking with Math

We are cooking a chocolate cake for dessert tonight.

Yum! It tastes good. It was gluten free because Lilly can't have gluten

I practiced fractions and addition while we cooked.  There is alot of maths in cooking.

Movie report

Today we saw the new Thor. It is awesome.  

 

It had dark elves and epic battles. 

It had lots of weapons and magic. 

I think you must see this movie.  

Book review Zac power test drive - chapter 1

This book is about test driving and at the same time it's a mission. The mission was to give a other agent a item that is needed.

Chapter 1 is about him being  on his mission and introduces the readers to the cool gadgets and to him.

Zac Power has to fly to an island where frogs have poison on them and are dying.

The frogs are special one of a kind.  The gadgets are amazing and cool.  This book has a recycle used power plane/car and pink parrachute pants

Crutching at Turners Creek

Crutching is for sheep wen there wool has grown over there eyes and the sheep can't see there lambs. So we shire there wool around there eyes and bum so thay can see and they don't get fly struk. Fly struk is wen the flys lay eggs in the pooy wool and grow magets eat them alive from inside. Yuck! 

Warwick sale yards

Today we went to the Warwick sale yards. Grandma took Lilly and I as well.  

She gets the fattest lambs and sold them in a auction. The butchers bought them.

There was alot of sheep in the yards that day.

We had to use mathematics to get the answer of there wight. That had 55kg per sheep the butchers will get about 20kg of meat from each sheep.

Geography - the environment - mistletoe.

Mistletoe.

Did you know that mistletoe is the only parasitic plant in the world?

They have unbelievably sticky seeds and beautiful flowers. Mistletoe is like this because they spread easily and they have red flowers. The birds are attracted to the flowers. When the birds poo it out  It sticks to the tree.

It all happens in trees branches and it sucks all the water out of the tree.

Druids used it for potions especially for love ones.

I am learning lots about different environments, landscapes the plants and animals in them for Geography

Zac power - book review

I finished my Zac power book it was awesome and I loved all the gadgets and action.

I like Zac power books the best.

First fleet

Today in history I learned about the first fleet. Captain Cook Dirk Hartog and William Dampier were explorers who discovered Australia, but at different times. William Dampier discovered Western Australia but left because he said there were too many flies.

Britains jails were too full. The jails were full because of the stealing. People got sent to jail for stealing bread. Tge Queen wanted a new land to send prisoners.

Captain Cook found bontany bay. It wasnt very good soil but they put all the convicts there anyway.

We went to Sydney earlier and saw the Rocks and the jails. Thay were old and dark.

Children were convicts too. I think i would have died from hunger and all that work.

It was awesome. my favorite subject is history.

 Next we will learning about bush rangers. Like lighting bolt.

Chapter 1 (shipwrecked)

I love Zac power books. In this one he has to drop 50 m under water from a plane at 150m in the air. To get in a submarine to find a fello agent. I'm exited to read chapter 2

Today we went to the beach and found some mangroves we explored them it was awesome and we Learned how to tell what is what some are brown mangroves and you can tell by the back of the leaf if its white and salty that is what I'm doing in the photo checking if its a brown mangrove yes it was.

Journey under the sea - cyoa 2

This is a choose Your Own Adventure book.

In the adventure I just read, i found Atlantis from a hole that my ship,the Seekers laser canon made.Then I settled there because they stopped me from going up to the surface.  i had a calm life under the sea.

I like CYOA because you get to choose the next bit in the story.

We saw Dad

We saw dad. We are going to play games like checkers and Uno with him.

He was better than usual.

His puppy blue eyes were shining.

He looked happy to see us.

End of naked egg experiment

We got our eggs out today.

There was no shells.

They were see through when we held them up to the sun.

We busted them on the grass. Murphy got some on his nose.

Science learning thus week - see through eggs

In science this week, we are doing an experiment.

Its about see through eggs. How awesome! 

 did you know all you need to have is 2 days, 2 plastic containers, an egg,vinegar, a fridge and patience  .. We have all those!!

1.put the egg in the container and cover it in vinegar 

2. Put the lid on and put it in the fridge

3. Wait for one day and get the egg out put it in the other container and do the same the next day you have see through eggs :) :0   

The reason it becomes see through is because the acid in the vinegar dissolves the egg shell enough that its see through.

There are bubbles at the moment . They are carbon dioxide. We have been learning about different gases with mum.

The egg shells are made of calcium carbonate and the vinegar breaks it down. The vinegar will permeate the shell. That means some of it sneaks into the shell. 

I cant wait to see the egg naked and the yoke slopping round inside the  membrane.

I've lost five teeth!

In the last three months I have lost five of my teeth.

Tonight, is the fifth one. Its a big molar.

The touth fairy will cume tonight. I hope!!! The spanish tooth fairy was not up to scratch because she didnt get my tooth. She left it there.

Life in Gympie

We have been here for four weeks. Its good.

Lilly and I have school work to do every day . Its better than going to school .

We play on the wii.

We have parrots to play with. They sit on your head.

Darcy the cat is so cute.

I am teaching Murphy the dog to sit stay come lay down and walk on the lead.

We go down to the creek and build cubbies.

Mum stays in her room most of the time. She crys alot. Lilly and me try and make her happy. She just stays in bed.

Science-parts of a flower

Today in science I learnt about the petal,style,ovary,stamen,sepal,stigma and carpel I did a test about it and I got 6/10 which was good.

I came 3rd for my solo and came 2n for my duo with Lilly.

There were lots of people competing. we did better than we did last year.

The Suitcase Kid - my reading report page 1 - 17

For my homeschooling, I have to read for 15 mins a day. I have to write about what I read.  My book is called The Suitcase Kid.

This book is about a girl whose family is breaking up. Mum bought it for me so it helps me as our family breaks up.

The girl has a pet rabbet called Radish and she leaves in her pocket.
so far,it is a fun book to read.

It's been a few days since Dad told Lilly and I that he was not going to live with us any more.

My mum is a writer and a publisher and one of her writers is Sylvia. Sylvia has a new book mum has just published called Mercury Blobs. It is short stories. Sylvia read them out at a big party at a book store.she was awesome. I liked all her stories but i liked the burka story best.
