Feedback

Well done Morgan, I can see you are really trying with your spelling and research.

You've missed a few questions though and I'd like to see some things expanded to explain more. ( food, Festivals, famous people, famous things that have happened there)

Remember - you have been to France a few times, so you can comment on what the food is like and some of the things you can see. What about the Palace of Versailles?

Downe house - Charles Darwin

Today we went to Downe House in Kent. It was the home of Charles Darwin. Charles Darwin was a naturist, scientist and an explorer in the 1800s.

He came up with the Theory of Evolution.

He also found out about the theory of Survival of the fittest and Natural Selection

When he was 22 he sailed on the Beagle for 5 years around the world. He collected bugs, tribal people and animals from his visits.   He studied them and drew them on his books. Then he found out what family they came from and categorised all living things.

He published a book called the Origins of the Species. It took him 20 years to publish it because it had alot of things in it which went against Christianity and their beliefs about God and creation. But he still got yelled at and was hated by many people.

This is a painting of him just before he died. We saw the painting in his house.

Music lesson 3

Todays music lesson looks at different and wierd musical instruments.
We went to Siegfried's Mechanisches Musikkabinett in Rudeshiem.
Most of the instruments here come from the Black Forest in Germany.

This is a band in one. This needs electrical power. It has 19 instruments in it.

This is a organ it gets wound on the side and makes very good music. They usually had is monkey to dance and they would get money.

This is a music chair when you wind it up and sit on it... It makes music. I think this is very cool and a very smart idea.

This is a smokers music box. When others wound up and the button is pushed the six sides come out and they hold things and it play music. I think that they can put things in it other then smokes.

This is a organ grinder and I got to play it.
You wind a handle around and around to make the organ play.

FEEDBACK

Great first draft Morgan.  Things to watch
Capital letters for proper nouns.
Spell the country correctly.

Questions still to answer
What other languages are spoken here?  percentages?
How does England compare in size to Australia? (how many times would it fit in there?)
what famous people come or came from England?  What are they known for?
What are the houses like? What is the plumbing like?

Your opinion  - Isn't it a bit weird that the emblem is a lion?  There is actually another animal - what its it?  Put in the photo of the emblem.

Pictures of the famous places

Extras I'd like to see:
Explain things alittle more - What are bangers?  What is mash?

Times tables are another essential thing to math. hey are the building blocks and without them, you can't really do maths.
Times tables are use often to work out big answers and hard numbers.

It would only be good for people who know minecraft.

Maths lesson 2 number sentences

A number sentence is like spelling a word in English and is just as important to maths as it's important to English.

Number sentences are used when doing math so you can find out what the answer of the question is.

You have to learn how to read a number sentence and what its asking you to do.
This is a simple one.

A harder example might be

If Morgan, Lilly and Xander were given 15 lollypops. How many each would they get?

What its asking me to do is: 15 divided by 3

Germany - Geography Report

Did you know that in Germany the invented the press for printing? We visited it in a museum in February, so if you've been around for long time on my blog that was the Gutenburg post.

Germany is in Europe next to Poland and beside Belgium and the Netherlands.

The capital city is Berlin.

Germany is 357,168 km² big. It could fit into Australia 21 times.

There is 80.62 million people who live in Germany.  Thats nearly 4 times as many people in Australia.

In Germany they speak German, English, Russian and French.

In Germany they have a democracy government.

They use euros for there currency. The Euro is used all over Europe.

There national emblem is a eagle.

Germany has alot of history. It was settled by the Romans 2000 years ago. We have been to some of the forts castles still standing. There have been lots of wars involving Germany, including the 1st and 2nd World Wars which were started by Germany.

The famous foods in Germany are bratwurst, black forest cake and their famous pumpernickel bread. One of there famous beers is a black beer.

You see these Barbecues everywhere as fast food in Germany. I love bratwurst best.

In Germany they have different roofs for the snow and ice that they have to deal with. So the houses have steep roofs.

Did you know that in Germany they have a few events on the ninth of November? In 1918 the monarchy was overthrown and replaced with the democracy government. They also have a night of remembrance from the second world war and the berlin wall coming down.

If you were going to be a tourist and want  to visit this country I would suggest to see the Neuschwanstein Castle, go to Oktoberfest and Brandenburg Gate.
