Neuschwanstein Castle

Today we went to Neuschwanstein Castle  . It was like a fairy tale castle. It was so cool. I love the story and all of it on the inside sadly we are not allowed to take photos inside.

The castle - it was very misty the day we went.

Neuschwanstein Castle was built for King Ludwig the second in the late 1800s

King Ludwig loved swans and books.

The castle from the bridge. So amazing.

Magic flute

Today we went to Marionettentheater Schloss Schonbrunn in Wien.

To watch the magic flute it was pretty cool and had lots of singing. The Marionettes where very complex in the way that they moved and could walk, dace and jump with the pull of a string.  The story is pretty complex so I am going to try to tell you in the simplest way.

A prince go hunting in the forest and got attacked by a serpent. Then some witches came and saved him. The witches boss the queen of the nights came and gave him a magic flute and said that here daughter is emprisioned by an evil man and has to be saved. Straight away the prince fell in love with the princess. He set of to get the princess back and found out the the said eval man was good and the queen of the nights was eval. So the prince went throw 3 tryles. The first one was science, the seceand one was fire, and the third one was water.

The marionettes. we got ot go back stage.

A report on Giraffes - from my Day at the Vienna Zoo

Today we went to the Vienna Zoo. I chose to study things about the Giraffe.
The giraffe is an mammal from Africa.  It has patches of colour on its fur. the patches are there so it blends into the forest. It is hiding from predators. Giraffes are hunted by lions they are also  by leopards, hyenas and wild dogs
It has extremely long neck and legs. It's a very tall animal. Giraffes are usually found in savannas, grasslands, and open woodlands in Africa. They eat mostly acacia leaves. With thier long neck and legs they can reach the top of the tree so they have a lot of food.
I reckon that giraffes are very cool animals.

Georgians

Today at Warwick Castle we went to a little actively pack about Georgians . They were named this because of King George. He as a very fat and lazy king who ate alot. There is a rhyme about him - Georgie Porgie.

Did you know that the used rat skin to rub on the eye brows to make them fluffy? yuck. They also at a lot of cake so they have bad teeth. Alot of them had no teeth so got dead peoples teeth put in their mouth. They also used mercury for all the lice, so their hair fell out. The Georgians wore wigs to hide this.

The history of the English long bow.

Today we went to Warwick Castle. We focused on the Bowman and his demonstrations and learnt alof about the history of it.

Did you know that the English long bow was invented by the Welsh? The bowman told us a story - I am not sure if its all true though.

One day Daffyd and tom where walking in the forest and daffyd fell over a branch the fell of a yew tree. Tom laughter at daffyd and daffyd got angry. Daffyd tryed to snap int on his leng but it didn't so Tom walked off a head. So daffyd got even Mader and got the stick and a bit of string and made a giant bow . He then got a sharp stick and shoot it a head it went flying and daffyd shouted '' did you see that ''. Tom shouted back ''AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH'' '' yes i did it's in my back''.

So the English hired welsh bow men to fight for them. But they got sick of it and got peasants to do it for them. The king forced all peasants to practice bow from teh the age of 8. The king needed alot of archers for his battles.

The long bow men have a weird walk because they had a big arm and a little on. This is because  one shoulder stronger then the other because of the bow.

"The Tempest" at Minack Theatre

Today we went to the Minack Theatre. The Theatre is carved into the side of a cliff. It has very steep steps up and down. We saw The Tempest which is a Shakesperean play.

It was ok because it was hard to keep up with. the story is very complex and I didnt  get it most of the time. The old language was very hard to know what they where saying. The good thing was that they had big movements and songs. Mum told us what was going on all the way through.

In my opinion it was a good play and I'd rate it 6/10

English lesson at The Jamaica Inn, Bodmin, Cornwall

Mum makes sure we learn stuff every day no matter where or what we do.

We looked at different sayings today.

If something 'graces' a wall it means it makes something beautiful.

A wolf in sheeps clothing is someone who is bad but looks good.

We saw that on an explaination of the Vicar in the Jamacia Inn Story. He was called that because he was a priest and dressed like a priest but was a smuggler who used to murder people.

The Turtle shell that graces a ship.

Characters from the Jamaica inn.

Smuggling at The Jamaica Inn, Bodmin, Cornwall

Today we went to the Jamaica Inn. We looked at the smart ways that they got there loot into the country with out the government finding out what they had.

The tube is where they put the oil and the rest is for the loot.

A smuggler. He has a black face so that the ships couldn't see faces in the night. They used to lure the ships in and get them wrecked on the rocks. They would then kill the sailors and take their loot on the ship.

Another way to get loot in. The bottom is for loot and it will go throw opening the lid and poring the oil.
